Dry Firewood is for sale in the following general  sizes :

• Xtra-Small logs are used for coal stoves.  Shorter  firewood is used in Coal and wood burning stoves, where fire chamber space is limited. Clients who provide small fireplace in guest cottages/chalets also use this size. Morso and other small stoves as well as braai wood
• Small logs fit perfectly into the typical clear plastic bags found in garages and supermarkets, South Africas braai wood in plastic bags (400mm by 650mm)  big.
• Medium logs are customers choice for average home fire places and family braaiing or barbeques. These are too long for clear plastic bags but burn better, longer because of the extra length and slightly larger diameter.
• Large logs are used in bonfires and communal fireplaces at lodges and exclusive guest houses. Length and diameter determined by the customer, normally upwards of 45cm and width split between very thin, meduim and thick. This to ensure a long hot burn especially in bonfires.

Black Wattle Firewood (Acacia mearnsii) is the only hardwood we sell. ECO Firewood because it is a Category 2 Invasive plant..

We DONOT cut down any indigenous trees at all. When we say hardwood we mean black wattle not sicklebos, bushveld hard wood or any other indigenous hardwood tree. We name our hardwood because it is important for our customers to know what wood they are getting.

A nameless hardwood could also be an indigenous hardwood, we DONOT sell indigenous hard wood trees.

Black Wattle (Acacia mearnsii) an invader species from Australia is now classified as an alien invasive tree and needs to be removed for our environments sake. We use this because it makes ideal fire wood and charcoal. Additionally by cutting them down and making firewood and other products we are being friends to our environment and assisting in the rehabilitation of the land by encouraging indigenous species to return.
